Shopping Ban

Hi readers... this was supposed to go up on Wednesday, but I never got around to it. So here it is, which necessary adjustments...
************************

Well, readers, I am posting to make an official announcement: I am implementing a one month (31 day), shopping ban. I mentioned this to G a week two weeks or so ago, and ever since then she has been bugging me to put it on the blog. So here it is, out in the open. Now I have to do it. And trust me, G will be there monitoring my wardrobe and reporting back to the blogosphere.

I think this should be a good challenge. When I first mentioned this to G (in an email) I included a pretty extensive list of exceptions to my ban. To make it more simple, and more of a challenge, I will be allowing myself one (1) transgression, should an emergency* come up, I will be allowed to make one purchase.**

As an incentive to make it all the way through the month without making a single purchase, I will reward myself with a brand spanking new pair of chocolate brown Uggs (tall)!*** These puppies have been at the top of my wishlist for what seems like ages. As my old Uggs have lasted me a good 5 years, I think it is high time they be retired.****

Let the shopping lack of shopping begin!

Shopping Ban Countdownometer: 31 days 27 days

* What qualifies as an emergency will be at the sole discretion of J
**Purchase is defined as follows: clothing of any kind, footwear, accessories, makeup. Purchase does NOT include: (1) returning and exchanging one item for another item of equal or lesser value; (2) necessary gifts for others (read: birthday, housewarming, wedding, puppy treats); (3) food; (4) ebooks; (5) magazines (up to three); (6) plane ticket; (7) lesson fees; (8) car payment (duh!).
***Should it be necessary to implement the emergency exception, I will not be allowed to purchase said Uggs until Dec. 13, 2010.

I don't think you'll be able to do it. Yea, I said it!

I'm kind of anti-Uggs, but I hope you make it to the end of your ban!
