OOTD

This weekend I went with the BF and some friends to see the Tulips in Skagit Valley (pics and details to follow in a later post).

Anyways, on the way home we made a quick detour to the Seattle Premium Outlets. After dropping the boys off at the casino, my girlfriend and I ran over to see what we could find for cheap. Our first stop was J Crew. While I found the prices to be higher than I thought they should be for an outlet, I did manage to score two awesome work appropriate pencil skirts for about $100.00 total. Not bad! One in an awesome bright fuchsia/purple which has me channeling Emma Pillsbury. And one in a much needed beige.

Today I could not help reaching for my new fuchsia skirt. It was pouring, and dreary and I felt that I needed some color to pump up my energy.

The UW v. WV basketball game is today at 4:30pm (west coast ). To support my team, I am decked out in the Husky colors, purple and gold. I would have gone a little more extreme had I not had a meeting with my boss and a client on today's calendar. Though you can't tell too well from the picture, but my tights are a very very very bright gold!

I will be taking off work early to make it to a bar to watch the game with friends. It should be a great game, and I hope the Huskies really bring their A game. If they do, there will be no stopping them.

Today's OOTD does not contain a single piece by Anthropologie. Shocking! Despite the lack of Anthro, I like this outfit quite a lot. This warm weather makes me feel Springy, which results in me reaching for brighter, lighter, colors.

OOTD: What I should have worn last Wednesday

This is what I had intended to wear on St. Patty's Day last week. Except I woke up on Wednesday and completely forgot that it was a holiday. I love, love, love this dress! It is a complete knock-off of a dress Anthropologie sold a season or two ago. I missed out on the Anthro one, so I could not resist this version. After waiting for it to go on sale, I broke down last week and grabbed it at full price. Much to my delight, it rang up at the sale price!

On a side note, my plan to blast my cold to oblivion with lots and lots of cold medication failed miserably. I was in bed all day yesterday, and I wish I could be in bed all day today too. It is partly my own fault. I could not resist a trip out on Saturday to watch the Huskies easily defeat New Mexico and enjoy a celebratory BBQ. Huskies are now in the Sweet 16! And you can bet that Thursday's OOTD will incorporate as much purple and gold as possible!

OOTD- Ugh, I caught a coworker's cold!

Here is a quick OOTD. Please excuse the dazed, tired look on my face- I am on my second dose of DayQuil in 2 hours.

I happened to catch a cold from a co-worker. I usually banish all people with cold like symptoms from my presence. But I had no opportunity to avoid this co-worker during the early part of this week. I am armed with DayQuil, NightQuil, and Cold-Eeze cough drops. I am declaring war on this little cold by diligently ignoring the dosing instructions on the box. The plan is to blast this little cold away by tomorrow.

Seattle is supposed to get temps up into the high 60s tomorrow. I refuse to be in bed with a cold on what may be the very last bit of warm weather until July. Seattle has the cruel tendency to tease me with one or two nice, warm, sunny days in late March or April, and then deprive me of all things Spring until July! Without fail, I threaten to pack my bags and leave this city for good at least twice between April and June. But somehow the amazing weather between July and October replaces my feelings of hate with feelings of love.

After a lot of thought and internal debate, my friend has decided to go with this whimsical little number from Anthro for her bridesmaids dress!

I am super excited, and I think it works perfect for what she is going for.

I included the picture I took trying on the dress at the store. Now just imagine it with heels and pressed. Cute yes?



I purchased the dress last week. I am going to have to ask the BF to hide the dress from me so that I am not tempted to wear it out before the wedding.


I wanna pair it with cowboy boots, a brown belt, and a cardigan.

OOTD: Goooooooooooooooo Huskies!

Hmmmm. This photo is a bit blurry. But not blurry enough to hide the wrinkles on my blouse! I must remember to steam this when I get home.

Anyways, I am wearing purple in honor of the Washington Huskies who face off against Marquette this afternoon. I am sneaking off from work a bit early to catch the game. Tip off is at 4:20 today. Here is to hoping the Huskies keep it together for a big win!

1. Two-Wheeler Shirtdress $128 (here)

Oh my goodness! The little bicycles on this bright blue dress are just darling! I can just picture myself wearting this dress in the summer while riding a cruiser by the beach in the sun!  I can't justify $128 for a little cotton dress, so I will wait for sale. This dress has not even hit stores yet, so it won't be anywhere near the sale rack soon... until then I will stalk, swoon, and repeat.

2. Tonal Gingham Dress $138 (here)
I tried this dress on last weekend and fell in love! I really can't spend $138 on a blue dress right now, so I will try and wait for sale. I really don't want to miss out on this dress (Night Blooming Dress, I am still weeping over you). If it looks like it might sell out, I will grab it.







3. That's A Wrap Necklance $228 (here)
Oh pretty little bow necklace, you are so outside my price range I will probably never own you. It won't stop me from swooning over you.

4. Loping Lanes Belt $44 (here)
I have not seen this in stores yet, and it is back ordered online. Boo. I know this cute little belt will get tons of use in my wardrobe. If I see it, I will snatch it.

OOTD

I am in a bit of a slump when it comes to putting together great, blog worthy creations. In addition to shitty weather, things have been a little tough at work.

And I'm Back...

Sorry for the delay... I had a super busy lazy week.

For several reasons I had a particularly hard time waking up each morning and taking the time to put into pulling together cute outfits. I am confident that my mood can mostly be blamed on the weather. We had been having such lovely, spring like temps much more June than March. Then right around Tuesday winter came back to Seattle. Bleh.

Not to worry people- I remembered to take pictures of my outfits! Not all of them were good, so I will only be posting the best!

Outfit 1. Wednesday
I liked this outfit as I was putting it together, and even as I was wearing it on Wednesday. But now looking back I think it was a little bit dark. If I were to do it over, I would add a pop of color- maybe my poppy colored cardigan. I guess my dark mood caused by the dark, cloudy sky was reflected in my outfit selection.

OOTD

Today's OOTD features the very popular Horizon Line Dress from Anthropologie. I really wanted the dress in the shell color (cream/blue combo), but it had sold out in my size by the time it went on sale. A reader tip on another blog alerted me to a store in North Carolina that had one dress in the red combo available in my size. I wasted no time in calling the store and having it shipped to me.

 I had just returned the Bustling Ave Dress due to a violation of my three week rule. I was sad to see the dress go because I loved the orange top! But something about the bold print just was not my style. But with the Horizon Line Dress I get the best of both worlds- the bright fun orange top, and the toned down skirt with scallops!

Weekend Outfits

I thought I would post my outfits from over the weekend. Only because they were cute, and were not my typical jeans and a comfy sweater look.

Outfit #1: Saturday Night
Saturday we went out to dinner at Purple Café and Wine Bar. I made reservations for six people approximately two weeks ago- this place is hopping! Reservations are a must, without them you will wait an hour, at least- and that can be with just two people!

This special dinner warranted a super cute outfit. So I pulled out my Reed Shirtdress and fancied it up with some tights and heels. Cute, yes?

Anyways, back to Purple. The food was only ok. But the wine was awesome! If you go, you must do a flight. From $14-$25 (depending on the flight) you get pretty hefty tastings of 4 different wines (adds up to a little more than 2 glasses). I asked the waiter to recommend a flight that featured medium to full bodied, fruit forward wines, with little to no tannins. This is what I got:

Outfit #2: Sunday
Sunday there was an appointment at a bridal shop to try on bridesmaids dresses for Stacey’s wedding. Stacey is still (as of today) undecided as to exactly what kind of dress she is leaning towards. The contenders are: (1) Anthro’s Wind Catcher Dress (here); (2) A dress from J crew’s Cotton Cady collection (here); and (3) an actual bridesmaid’s dress which I don’t remember the name of. I will know (hopefully) by the end of the month. Whatever it will be, I know it will look awesome.

Anyways, back to my outfit. I bought this dress on super sale from online back in November. It clearly was meant to be a summer dress, but I could not wait any longer to wear it out. This was my attempt at winterizing it. I think it worked out pretty well. I love it because it is short enough that I can wear flats and not look extra short.

Today's Anthro Purchase

Today I stopped by one of my local Anthropologies to make some returns. One shirt that was a full size (maybe 2) too big which just would not work and one dress that had sat in my closet unworn for over three weeks. I have a strict rule that if I don't wear something after three weeks I return it. I might rebuy that dress if it makes it to the sale rack in my size.

I also wanted to try Anthro’s Two Paths Trench (here).

This coat is a pretty close replica of a Burberry trench that was featured on the character Robin from How I Met Your Mother. I remember seeing that coat on the show and loving it!

I would have waited for this one to go on sale, but I was in luck! The only 0 they had in stock had a section on the seam that had come apart inside the pocket. An easy $7 trip to my tailor translated to a 40% price adjustment. Sold!

I could not resist adding the scarf and the sunglasses! Too fun.

Today was another day that required more "professional attire." So I threw on my favorite work appropriate little black dress and added the lovely Elodie Lily cardigan from Anthro. The lengths I went to get this cardi! It was worth it though- and I scored it for $29.99 (originally $118 I think).

OOTD- A bit of a cheat.

Today's OOTD is actually from a week or so ago. I have concluded I am not really digging my actual OOTD, so I am not going to post it. It had a good foundation, and incorporated the lovely Embroidered Thicket Blouse (seen here, but no longer available) that I grabbed yesterday from Anthro’s sale racks. I feel that something got lost in translation. I am thinking it has to do with the way I accessorized. Oh well, they can't all be winners. I will rework this outfit for a later date.

I bought this dress when I was in New York over President’s Day Weekend for a reunion with girlfriends from high school. Since all three of those girls now live out on the East Coast (2 in New York, 1 in Philly), I make it out there twice a year. We spend the weekend eating, shopping, and giggling.

We stopped by The Loft after seeing some cute styles in the window on our way home from dinner the evening before. I actually grabbed this dress off the sale rack for my friend Melissa since it was not my size. She found it to be too big, so I tried it on. It was perfect. And half off.

I love sweater dresses and find them to be the perfect “go-to” on rainy days where I just want to climb back into bed. Guess I had one of those days last week.

OOTD- One of my top Anthro purchases

Sorry for the late post! I was out and about running all over Seattle for work today and I was not near a computer. Thankfully I snapped a picture of my OOTD as I ran out the door this morning. By the time BF got home with his computer, I was already in my PJs catching up with DVR'd episodes of Gilmore Girls.

The dress is my fave Anthro purchase ever, made even better because I got it on super sale! I would have paid full price, and then some for this one.
