I wore this little number last Monday. I was inspired by a reader outfit submission last week on Anthroholic. Inspired may be too "nice" of a word- I totally, shamelessly, stole this entire outfit. So, umm I can't really take any credit for the awesome pattern mixing. Wasn't my idea. But I loved it.
Dress: H&M Spotted Dress, 2 (2003, $35)
Skirt: Anthro Skirt, 4 (200?, $??)
Belt: Anthro Red Buckle Belt, S/M (200?, $??)
Cardigan: Anthro Tick-Tock Cardi, XS (2009, $100 EA Trade Market)
Boots: J. Crew Tall Grey Leather Boots, 4 (2009, $125 on sale)
Tights: Nordstrom Rack by Hue, Black, S/M (2009, $7)
I did not have the spotted type of top that this outfit required, but I had a spotted dress! I have become a little obsessed with layering skirts over dresses. I especially love it when the dress peeks out from the bottom of the skirt, as it did here, creating a slip look. You can kind of see the dress peeking out from the bottom in the first picture.
Oh, and the spotted dress is my very first H&M purchase ever! I bought it on my first trip to New York when I was in college. It was back when there were no H&M stores on the West Coast. I remember dragging my friends into every single H&M we passed because I was so excited. I think this was the only thing I purchased. But it has stood the test of time, and I still reach for it several times a year.
Hope you all have a great start to your week!

Well, I saw the outfit and I thought it was totally cute, too! Good job putting it together :)
Thanks Crystal! I get so excited when I see outfits that I can copy, especially when it involves a combo I would never have come up with on my own.
